Solution for using keyboard
Posted by: admin ()
Date: August 09, 2007 02:48PM

Please post only SOLUTION here, no question or comment about solution, for that create your own thread.

"PocketCM Keyboard doesn't work!"

First thing to try: a soft reset.

Not working: soft reset, touch nothing, reinstall the kb, soft reset, try.

Still not working:
Do it at your own risk, some people had issue with it... the kind of issue that required a hard reset. Also remember it's still beta...

1. Grab the Default IM Selector here [http://www.pocketcm.com/downloadfile.php?f=defaultimWM5.zip]
2. Instal it (of course)
4. Start -> Programs -> IM Selector -> chose PCM Keyboard
5. Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input -> Select PCM Keyboard
6. Soft Reset and cross your finger.

bonjour ...

Maintenant j'aimerais vraiment reussir a l'utiliser.

A number of people have found this I believe.
The best way to make this your default sip is to follow the instructions above:

1. Grab the Default IM Selector here [http://www.pocketcm.com/downloadfile.php?f=defaultimWM5.zip]
2. Instal it (of course)
4. Start -> Programs -> IM Selector -> chose PCM Keyboard
5. Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input -> Select PCM Keyboard
6. Soft Reset and cross your finger.

Had trouble getting v .08 (on xv6700 with new WM6) to be default keyboard. Ran Memmaid -> Clear RAM and then Advanced Scan & Clean. Then went to settings and got PCM Keybord to run just fine.

....so, looks like this may be a memory problem. Maybeeeeee!

I love this keyboard and would love to make it my only!

Also, suggestion for new feature ...how about vibrate feedback when you hit the keys? Tried this on the Phone Dialer and it is very cool!

I think I have a solution...

My Config: PPC6700 with Helmi_C WM6.

1. Remove old version.
2. Search your registry for left over strings and delete them. I seached for "pocketcm" and it found the entries.
3. Soft Reset
4. Install ver. 0.10 (not sure why this is not version 1.0 as it follows 0.9 ??)
5. Soft reset.
6. Install Default IM Selector here [http://www.pocketcm.com/downloadfile.php?f=defaultimWM5.zip] as mentioned above. Note that I have tried this before through SKtools and it froze my 6700. This was not the case this time. One thing I now do differently with WM6 before a soft reset is turn the radio/phone off.
6. Open "IMSelector" in Programs and select "PCM Keyboard"
7. Soft reset.

Hope this works for you (an keeps working for me!) as I cannot stand the original keyboard and this little app is the perfect replacement.

I was having the same problems of the phone not allowing the PCM keyboard becoming the default keyboard. The way I resolved this problem was to follow the suggested fix exactly. Install IM Selector, select PCM Keyboard, and then short reset. (Make sure you do the Soft Reset!) After soft reset create a new text message, click on keyboard at bottom of screen. If it its the PCM Keyboard great you've done it but if its not click on the small triangle next to the keyboard icon. Select PCM keyboard and viola you should be good to go.smileys with beer You can make sure that this is the default keyboard by doing:

Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Input ->
> Select PCM Keyboard

Hope that I've clarified any problems getting this app running for those of you that were stuck.winking smiley

Hi,

I was wondering how to UNinstall this keyboard as it seems to be slowing down my HTC considerably. I deleted the program but the dll-registry files seem to have survived my deleting. How can I fix this? Simple answers please, don't want to install another 17 plugins in order to fix this.

Tnx

If I click on it, nothing happens.
Even though I copied all the unziped files to "Program files" directory, but nothing appears when I click on the triangle.
Already tried to instal the default IM selector, but same .xml file appears.

Another solution:
deactivate all Today-Screen elements, tap keyboard, tap the triangle and select "PCM Keyboard" - it would work. after that, reactivate your favorite Today-Screen elements, the PCM Keyboard should be still active.
good luck

how do you install this in the fist place? All i see when i download this onto my laptop is a folder with *.cab files and an xml install site which doesn't do anything when i click on it.

Solution from Salvan worked perfect for me! Seems there's an incompatibility with Today plugin from SPB Shell. I can't select the PCMKeyboard with this plugin active. But once deactivated PCM Keyboard works as expected.

I don't know if it's a bug of SPM or PCM Keyboard, but it would be great to have this problem fixed as it seems that affects lots of users.

Thanks for this great application!

Here is a fix for setting the default SIP without any of the hassle of the other posts. This worked great for me and no trouble of worring about having to hard rest my HTC TYTN. I have attached the file. The instructions are pretty straight forward.

1. install cab
2. open Sipchange in programs folder
3. choose your fav. SIP from list
4. hit select button
5. all done

Now your Fav sip will be loaded upon any soft reset. If necessary increase delay time depending on how long your resets take.

TaurenSnake, the problem is, that sometimes SIPChange doesn't want to do its job. And then the solution with deactivating Today's plugins comes with the help.
